I am not sure who at Rave writes the description but ahem, the "heavy gauge" PVC is the same gauge you will find in a childs little float that you buy at Walmart - you know, the pretty colored inner tube styles. It is about as thin as you can get and still hold air. The "Heavy Duty" tarpaulin cover? Um, no. I have wind breakers thicker than this material.

It is NOT tarpaulin, but is a thin nylon . Really a pity. They went all out with the decorations and the little pockets at the back of the seats, etc. But, the minute it even kissed a piece of dock (and I do mean, just a love tap )- whoosh! A huge hole.

I didn't realize just how thin everything was until I went to patch the hole. Then it all made sense. This is a fun pool toy but franky would be dangerous for someone to use as a kayak if they weren't a strong swimmer. This is more in line with a $89.00 item and certainl is NOT worth anything over that. Sorry. I really wanted to love it and was going to get several.
