Sailing Canoe / Kayak

An incredibly reluctant sale but under-use and a house move means a new owner is required. This is a sailing kayak/canoe that I bought and restored for a canoe sailing expedition around the Scottish lochs several years ago. This boat can also easily cruise canals, rivers, or any other sheltered waterway. Weeks and weeks of work have gone into restoring this plywood canoe into a fully fledged sailing canoe. It has a special Glass fibre hull that makes it super slippy and more resistant to scrapes.

I has hatches at the front and back as well as a fully dismantlable sail and dagger board that can both be stored so you can use a standard paddle when the wind drops. . I have also created a bespoke steering mechanism that allows you to steer the rudder when under sail by pulling a specially constructed toggle. This boat is a blast, I was hoping to use it again but the kind of trips I go on involve long portages and you would not want to haul this canoe over dry land over long distances (though i did exactly that but it wasnt a comfy experience.coated in c Whilst the boat is watertight the rudder has been dismantled and needs to have the rudder attachment points reattached to the Canoe. PLEASE NOTE: (1) This canoe has been dry stored in my garage - it's only has one outing (3 days in Scotland in 2016) but it does have signs of wear and tear and will require some attention. This is a great project, it attracted a lot of attention and love from people passing by and when under sail, well, it feels incredibly fast.
