Sassafras 12 Lightweight Open Canoe

After 5 years of careful storage and use of this 12 foot traditional lapstrake canoe on the Thames I am switching to a shorter canoe which will fit into my van and take me further afield. The Sassafras 12 weighs only 12.7 kg and has a carrying capacity of 118 kg. It is built of marine ply, mahogany, glass fibre and epoxy by the stitch and glue method. Two floats providing additional stability were produced by the original builder, but I have never needed to use them.
