Wooden Canadian Canoe, 16ft Long, Cedarstrip With Epoxy Sheathing, Plus Paddles.

Our beautiful wooden canoe is for sale. Built from cedar strip planking with a clear epoxy-resin sheathing, and then varnished. The interior detailing is all ash; gunwales, floor and seats.It is 16ft long, and we bought it from the builder about 25 years ago. We've had many happy times with it, but it is too big for us now.The outer varnish layer could do with touching up or renewing, but the epoxy sheathing below is sound. A forward section of one gunwale, about 12 inches long, is looking a little rotten, it could be either preserved or cut out and replaced.

Otherwise the boat is in excellent condition, is fully watertight and could be used extensively before these items needed attention. The cedarstrip construction is immensely strong. I don't know what its maximum payload is but it's a lot. We've had river camping holidays with two adults and all gear, and we've often had three adults in it. Again, I can't be accurate but I think the boat weighs between 40 and 50kg.

We used to transport it regularly on a roof rack.Two wooden paddles are included in the sale. Viewing recommended. Collection only, but I could assist with a local delivery.
