16' Cedar Strip Double Canoe Wood Wooden  New!!  45 Pounds!

You are considering a brand new 16' x 33" double canoe that weighs only 45 pounds! It's the Ashes Angler Day design extended to 16' I like this design because it paddles very well but is quite stable. I built it with western red cedar strips 3/16" x .7"; accent pieces are pine. Gunnels, thwart, seat and tips are mahogany and the stems are eastern ash. Of particular note; it was constructed without any seams and NO STAPLES!

That means there are no staple holes running up and down every one foot interval. I used 4 oz fiberglass cloth, and filled with epoxy resin on both the outside and inside with a double layer running the full length about 8" in width on both the inside and outside. I completed the project with three coats of high gloss Spar varnish. Included in the purchase are three matching wooden paddles; two adult and one child's size.
